Maran colors & eggs?

You want a BR I'll send you this hen I have. I'm thinking of boxing her up in a few minutes and taking her and a game hen to the auction today. Both are just too mean. The BR actually killed my only Wheaten Marans pullet. Never been a fan of BRs and even my Don who was and in her new home still is the best layer I ever had, but man what an attitude.

Lol - take her to the auction! We don't keep mean birds, we eat them.

Couldn't catch her but I got her tag team partner. One down!

So if I send her to you can I come to dinner?

Beautiful eggs Katy! I really miss my Cuckoos

My Cuckoos are nothin special, but they do lay a little darker than my Barred Rock. She lays almost pink eggs. Of course, it probably varies a lot. My BR came from Ideal. My BCM girls aren't top notch either compared to others, but I like them a LOT. I paid $8/chick for my BCM's as day-olds straight run.

$10 for a 6 month pullet wouldn't get you anything more than a hatchery "RIR" around here, seems really cheap, so I would assume they are hatchery birds.

I labled who laid what in this pic.

When you want some let me know my eggs are close to the color of Katy's I'm working on getting the feathered shanks they are some big chunky birds Cratty line and I really like them such a kind rooster too. I did get some from Cackle and they are starting to lay right now much darker eggs than the McMurray ones I had still clean legged though. It's very hard to find nice French Cuckoos that lay dark eggs. I have some Golden Cuckoos that I hatched from dark eggs but they haven't started to lay yet and those are harder yet to find these are Davis line birds and Bev is working on some right now I hope she has some ready to sell soon

We have our first egg from our Ameraucana. It's a very light olive for lack of a better term. I guess it would be called green tinted?? Here's a pic. The coloring is very light.
Back to my original question when I started the thread, will this egg color laying hen plus a BCM roo make olive eggs and thus olive egger hens? Or do I need to continue looking for a blue egg layer?
