Maran or Barred Rock

I bought this year old "Barred Rock" hen not too long ago. She lays a very dark brown egg (as opposed to the lighter Buff Orpintons) and I am now questioning if she is a Maran. Can anyone help me?

Looks like a BR to me, I see yellow legs. I don't have Cuckoo Marans though.

I have both and that one looks like a Barred Rock to me.

Edited to add: Upon expanding the photo to a larger size I think it may be a BR/Maran cross.

The comb does look larger than my BR, who is also a year old.

I have a BR hen who came from Ideal who lays quite a dark egg. And a daughter of my other older BR hen lays an extremely dark egg. They are definitely BRs, no question.

Expand the photo and look at the sharpness of the barring and the legs which look like they have feather stubs. Looks a lot like some BR/Maran crosses I've seen.

I've got Barred Rocks and she sure does look like one. Can you post a picture of the egg she's laying, maybe sitting next one of the regular looking BR eggs?

Thanks for all the opinions. Here is a Buff Orpinton egg compared to the Barred Rock. My other BR's aren't laying yet. The BO egg is very light brown, almost pink.

Yep, the one on the right way darker than any BR or BO that I've seen. Looks like you either got a mix up in your order or someone had an unexpected late night visitor.
