I've really been researching this and cant quite get to the bottom of it. What is the clear distinction between maran and langshan? Especially with roos that dont lay how would you differentiate? I know the langshan went into forming the maran so that's probably why this isnt clearer for me.
I've seen that the tail on the langshan tends to be higher set like a U, but then I also see images of BCMs with higher set tails as well. I've also read that langshans are the tallest non game bird, but I'm not sure how that relates to the maran height.
I ask because I have a roo that is absolutely huge, much bigger than my buff orp roo of the same age. Was marked BCM but has absolutely no copper on him. Has white/pink skin, and sparse feathers down his legs and outside toe. Anyone have thoughts on this?? Would he be that much bigger than the buff orp if hes truly a maran?
