Marans...OR?

I WANT marans!!!! That’s just the plain truth...but I also don’t want them.

Here’s the thing:

they are too expensive, is there a breed I can make with brown, cream, white, green, and blue layers to get a breed that lays a really dark brown...like “welsummer” dark?

No. If the genes for dark eggs aren't already in those breeds, you aren't going to get dark eggs by crossbreeding them. To get dark eggs, you need to start with dark layers.
