I have never used either of those incubators, but from what I understand they are great to work with. On my incubator I kept the temp between 99.5 and 99.9. Then I followed the settings Bev Davis had posted on here for humidity. The first 18 days I did around 45 to 50% humidity, then for lockdown 65-70%. Last year I had problems with both eggs from my Marans stock and from shipped Marans eggs, but all the other breeds I had in there did just fine. I think it was due to the temp being a bit lower than it should have been and too low humidity. I've read lots of posts on dry hatching, but have never had luck with it, I don't know if I'm in an area that needs a bit more humidity or not, but so far, on this hatch (first of the year) I'm light years away from where I was last year. I've got pipping and hatching on day 20...last year either they hatched around day 22-24 or they didn't hatch at all (which was a lot of them and was so disheartening). Quite a few people say they leave their eggs up til day 27 or so, as some take a bit longer to hatch. There's been discussion too about the shell of the Marans eggs being thicker and affecting hatches, but I'd think as long as your temps and humidity are set, its a waiting game really?
I don't know if any of that helped at all or not, but I hope you are able to sort it out. What colors of Marans do you raise?
