Marans Thread - breed discussion & pictures are welcome!

Yeh right! Why is that?? We had a storm the other night that I totally slept through!

At least if the power does go off, my bator re-sets itself to the previous settings. I now know the power company knows I'm nuts. When the power went out for 4 hours a couple of weeks ago, I told them they must get it back on, I have prized chicks in the brooder!

Girl on the other end says, "in the house???" I know they are all picturing a flock of free range house chickens!!

haha...I wonder the same thing about power outages...I have lucked out so far this year, but I am wondering what this year's tornado season will be like. By far it is my least favorite thing about living in the Midwest.

I more was wondering on the auction thing about the payment process and etc..? Does it run through pay pal, etc?

Yes. Use the direct PayPal, not an e-check as they can take 4 or 5 days to clear. With eggs, you want the clearance to be fast to get your eggs, fast!

I just reminded her on the auction page to add payment info. More than likely, she will contact the winner with her paypal details, or may post it to the auction when she gets home from work.

You and me both! I'd much rather the power go out, than to have the whole shootin' match taken away by a twister!!

As fascinating as they are to watch, that last funnel cloud I saw out the back window was a tad TOO CLOSE!!!

Did you splint the toes straight while you were at it? you can still do it if not, just might have to be a bit longer. i know it sounds like lots of work, but it will be worth it when it grows up normal

I hear ya! How's the weather supposed to be down there for you today? I'm planning on getting going here soon working outside...its supposed to be in the 70's and NOT with 40 mph winds. I've got some sorting through my chicks to do and moving of breeding stock to different pens. Its also time for a bit of spring cleaning in the barn. And if I still have time, I want to work in the garden too. Tuesdays are my day off and are usually packed full of things to do around the place!

The seller should list which payment method they prefer. If you have any questions you should be able to ask and get a quick answer. If I don't get answers from the seller, I don't bid because people who don't bother answering probably won't bother shipping or answering any other questions/ problems you have about the product/s you recieve etc. Good communication goes a long way.

The auctions here usually go via paypal but I've seen a few that prefer a money order or check.
Some auctions are Buy-It-Now ( with no bidding required) but they don't want you to hit the BIN button lol. They prefer you to pm them and then they will give you the place to send you payment and details on how to pay. This should be written in the auction post if that is how they want to do it.

, and in the 60s! Severe weather coming in on Sunday. I need to haul in some sand to the garden and let it dry out some more before I till it again. We had frost this morning. I want to plant some cabbage, but may just wait a week or so more. It was 27 here this morning

ok...thanks...it sounds like it is pretty easy. I'm not going to go out of my way to bid, but if I happen to be around I might see how things go on the couple I have my eyes on. haha
