Marans Thread - breed discussion & pictures are welcome!

TammyTX , Hello, welcome to the Marans thread!

Do you have a pic of your bird's legs? Hatcheries don't usually breed for quality, just quantity, so it may be cross-bred. May I assume it's supposedly a Cuckoo Marans?

Ha! Seems instead of tornados we had an earthquake here this morning. My male Shepherd woke me up about 3am when he heard a noise. He was barking aggresively, so I got up. Went to the kitchen, and the box fan that feeds the cool air to the brooder room had fallen over. Just heard about it on the news. Said it was a 2.9? Heck, I've been through a 7.2 out in CA., so a 2.9 didn't even wake me up! Dang dog, I would've slept through it, but maybe the fan would've burnt out? It's all good.

I thought "pinched" tail went with the "v" shape..... but further discussion seemed to contradict this....

I don't have an example with a Marans, but maybe this will help.
