Any experts out there?

Either color is acceptable as there is no standard written for blue/splash. (andelusian blue gene works in nuances)

The first splash is a pullet not a male.

Sorry, I guess my post was not clear, yes I know she is a pullet, she is the one currently in the pen with my blue coppers, and the second bird, the cockerel, is without any hens in a separate pen.

Your hen looks similar to my girl, Eva (Zsa Zsa is the "greyer" one), but my roo, Lil' Joe, looks quite a bit different.

Hi!

I have Hatchery stock of Cuckoo Marans, I like them, but I would like to have breeder's stock that lays darker brown eggs. I would like to find someone here that has Maran hatching eggs. I am looking for a different color than a cuckoo, as I think they are too common to me, and the BCMs too. I would like to breed a rare color that lays very dark eggs. Thanks for any help.

The splash pullet is lovely and I would use her to make some more Blue Coppers if you had a Black Copper male to breed her to.

Do you have another photo of the splash roo??? One that is more close up and a little clearer perhaps? Not saying your photos are bad, they are not, it's just that the one of the roo is not clear enough to see his coloration.

In this photo he appears to be a Splash Birchen....anyone else see this? Don? Geebs? Debbi?
