Went back to the site MCCU, and looked it up again. No, it is a different variety and is a "Blue-Salmon" not Blue Copper. Blue Copper has it's own listing. Go to the site http://www.maransusa.org/ and look under "color varieties". Now I'd really like to see this! Bev, do you know anyone who has this type??

This link will take you right to the page: http://www.maransusa.org/varieties.html

Hi

I am developing a blue salmon line, not sure if anyone else is working on a line. The egg from my golden salmon is as dark as the black coppers so hopeful that the blues will be the same.

Thanks Bev, I thought maybe it would be you

Do you have any pics of them you could share with us? All I saw on your site were the Golden Salmons. Thanks.

Hi

If they came from Bill Braden then they would have laid dark eggs when they first started laying. Bill has been working on his line of cuckoos forever and I have seen the egg color, it's dark!

Hi

If I get a bird that starts eating an egg I get the egg shell, fill it with salt and then color some mustard and put that in the centre, it works a charm. I wouldn't get rid of a bird as good looking as your blue.

BevDavis: Well it laid an egg... It is a dissapointing 4 at best... (the birchen hen) however there is a gal in the area that got birds from wade that hatched a split for silver and gold hackle birchen male... She will take the hen for a project... We will keep you posted... She is sure a nice hen.. I hope his egg genes are better than hers... I am soooo used to the darkies.. It was a raving dissappointment.

Yep... I am totally ignoring you...wynette I figure your week isn't bad enough I thought I would just "blow you off"... ha ha.. Srry... Glad to see you among the living... WELCOME BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm the one ignoring her. I should be PMing her, telling her all about how the eggs (now almost adult) I got from her are doing. . . But I'm not. Yet.
