Wynette, what ever happened with the funky leg feather discussion? I brought Clyde inside to check him out for the show, and he looks awful. I took pics, but no different than all the others.
And, NO, this has nothing to do with the METER!

I haven't been able to treat my boy - I haven't heard back on that person that posted on that thread with the REALLY bad legs on her rooster. My issue in treating is that I have a lack of space issue in treating my boy. I have a hen that is close to being done with her quarantine in a breeder cage, and when she's out, I'll be putting my boy in & trying the Hibiclens/Virkon treatment.

He seemed really happy to get the leg massage this morning, alot of the skin around the feathers was red, kind of itchy looking.
A little neosporin made a big difference.

Someone mentioned awhile back trying a human antifungal for athlet's foot.....she said that helped, but did not eliminate the problem. I dunno. I'm perplexed and frustated with the whole thing. Was going to show my boy in a small, local show coming up, but no way can I show him sans shank feathers. Sigh.

For the $2.00 entry fee, I'll take the chance. I also have a sale cage, will get rid of all the crowers.
Will have peace and quiet all winter. YES!!

And Morning by the way to you and all! And good to see you back Mel!

I've been in and out all morning, but have been keepin up with the thread but haven't posted yet. I'm working in the garage and getting it ready for an overhaul in organization and painting and etc. My back has been feeling really great today...which is hopefully a good sign that I'm heading back to normal again. I'm still taking it easy, but it feels good to be getting things done. I frosted the garage windows which is a major improvement. Living on a corner property can be such a pain especially when it gets dark...and having some not so great neighbors that I wonder about sometimes...can make one feel naked when working on things at night, which is usually when I feel the most creative. So, I solved that problem and it looks great!

I am not trying to change your mind but look at the head, this is a pea comb head. Take a look at one of your straight comb birds and compare. The pea comb head is more round . Over and out.
