Husband suggested not waiting till he could get home with vitamines but running out to get some instead. Think thats the path I am going to take. If its something so simple that would be great. If its not, then at least I can rule that out. So how much poly vi sol ( without iron of course) do they get?

I gave 3 drops a day- usually gave it all in the morning so I won't forget. My girl probably had a mild case and is still with us today and has started laying eggs. Good Luck.

I had a baby Olive egger chick that was born on day 25 and was upside down in the egg from where they are supposed to be. She is fine and laying now but she has always had a neurological defect where she will stop what she's doing and move her head back and forth for awhile. Then she kinda snaps out of it and continues eating or whatever she is doing. I'm not sure if they are siezures or what but she never falls down or anything..its just the head moving thing.
One time a big rooster she didn't know came up to her like he wanted to mate her and she started moving her head back and forth and he just looked at her like what the heck kind of freak show are you? And then he ran away LOL! Her name is Tipsy because when she does that she looks drunk

Are your chicks getting medicated feed? I had a Marans chick that I had to cull at 5 weeks. She also started out fine but by 2 weeks she wasn't able to stand. I hand fed her for weeks, loaded her up with vitamins, and finally gave up at 5 weeks. There was some suggestion that the medicated feed may have been a problem for her. (Lots of folks insisted "no way" but I can't help but wonder ... ) She was strong and vigorous. Her growth kept up with the others. She even managed to move around a bit using her wings. She just couldn't stand up.
one foot is now curling up. its not lifting its head. It was a little unsteady yesterday. It has gone down hill fast. Almost like it had a stroke or something.
well shoot. I wish I had seen this post before I had to go to work...I took two dozen eggs with me to drop off for someone after work and it had some of my splash eggs in the cartons. They are just as dark as my black coppers...I'll see if she behaves and lays me an egg tomorrow and take a pic of it for you...its dark and speckled!
