I know, those are so cool. I really want some. I hope someone in the US gets them and breeds them. They sound like hyenas or something! LOL @ you getting drunk and cackling on the deck. That's me too - except with margaritas out by the fire pit
hey Debbi.... sounds like you had a productive day! I didn't get quite as much done as I'd have liked, but I'm gettin there on things. Just gotta keep at it a bit everyday.

Sounds to me like you weren't slacking off either! What a nice day it was here. Hope the weather holds out till I get the cooplet built! This one is going to be about 18" off the ground with a ramp. I sure hope the Silkies are smart enough, after awhile, to figure out how to go in and out! May have to put some guard rails on the side of the ramp too, those girls can't see squat!

haha...that's just too funny...guard rails for the girlies....
I was happy with what I got done...culled about 14 boys and banded 13 girls that will be going to a new home as layers (mix of different breeds), and got a rough game plan of who I'm going to work on sorting tomorrow...go my list of supplies I need from town later this week, and am gathering up a few birds in my mind that I will be selling. I have had a good run with a few of them, but its becoming obvious they don't fit in with the direction I'm going, so its time for them to go to homes where people will really enjoy them
oh! and I'm catching up on takin photos that I've promised people....posted a couple pages back
oh that's a good idea about the sides for the ramp. I have the same situation with the new coop here. It is about the same hieght off the ground. The girl silkies all have huge crests and yeah I agree with you about them being a little dumb or just silly. I call them my ding dongs.
I found out which girl laid that gorgeous olive egg yesterday and she laid another one today. She is all black with feathered shanks and only a
semi -peacomb!
