Black x Blue will result in 50% Black and 50% Blue
I should add that the percentages are based on a fairly large amount of eggs being set....I think I remember reading somewhere it was like per every 25 eggs set or something.
Oh and if they are brother and sister it's best not to breed them together...(unless out of necessity) and look for an unrelated male or female, can be from the same lines....just not direct siblings.
A friend wants me to video it. I watched him do it a few times this morning.
And I was watching to see what that pathetic noise was, it's been going on for 2 days.
I thought it was one of the parrots....
I'm so not ready for this!
I do have a sale coming up this weekend that I think I will be sending a lot of birds that I used for layers and other misc birds. I just don't need more beaks to feed and I need to clear out the last of the grow out pens so I can tear them apart before winter is here with a vengeance. So, it will be really nice to thin down...i know for sure without even tryin Ive got about 20 birds to go....probably will end up with a lot more by the time i go thru my dad's stock...I'd be thrilled if I was able to reduce about 50 birds! I still will have some that I will let grow out, but they need the time so I can see which ones I really should hold onto....mostly its the birchens I'm worrying about at this point.
Got brave and candled my Black Copper eggs tonight (day 7). Obvious growth in at least 3, maybe 5. DEFINITE change from yesterday so SOMETHING is happening.
