Good morning all!

I was looking at the two girls I got from Pink yesterday. Charlotte, the blue, has had no coppering as of yet, but yesterday I noticed what looks like silver hackle feathers coming in??? She also has gotten a lot of goldish leakage on her back coming in too. Is it possible she is carrying the gold/silver genes for Birchen? I will try to get a pic of her, but she is NOT impressed with me or the camera!

Surely this coloring has been coming on for some time now, but it seemed to pop up over night. Pink, did Gnarles ever throw any Birchens??

My first Wheaten Marans (actually my first Marans). Ignore the one chick that wouldn't get out of the pic, thats my newest OE. At what age can you determine if you have roos or gals? Thanks!

I've got 2 chicks (blue&black) both out of my darkes eggs which came from my best BCM hen. And 4 more eggs that are on day 21 today. The 2 out have shell stuck all over them lol

He absolutely positively must carry Birchen as does Bill, because remember Dale #88???? He came from Bill crossed over one of Gnarles oldest daughters. I do not have her anymore, but am trying out her sister (my sweet little Charmin) in with the large Birchen male who is finally out of quarantine....when and if Charmin decides to start laying again I will see what happens.
