Anywho....I believe you can see some Blue Birchens on the Marans Clubs websites and I think I remember seeing them on Feathersite. You could also look at Bev's website, I'm not sure if she has updated that section of her site yet and posted any, but its worth trying.

Gilavina has some pretty girls too.

Will look around for one on the web and see what I can find for ya.

Thank y'all for the response on the pine shavings, am much relieved here.

Fl Garden girl.....love the pics of your gorgeous, thriving plants. We go to FL at least once a year, sometimes twice and always enjoy the tropical feel/sight of the fauna combined w/ the scent of beach/saltwater spray. Sensory overload here

Kim, LOL w/ the immensity...is that a word......of this thread, one doesn't dare get behind on the reading or you just plain cannot catch up.

LOL. My plants and fruit trees love the shavings, hay, grass clippings, feathers and poop combo. I get more fruit from my trees since I have been using it on them. Matter of fact, most of my fruiting trees have their own personal compost piles at the base of their trunks.

I like that picture of the papaya :) I need to find a mango that I can grow in San Diego? Most have never fruited or the fruits never mature :-(

Craptastic! I just got all the eggs outside set up to take a pic and...dead battery..grrr. Now I have to let it charge for a half hour. I had to lug all the eggs back inside because there are some kitties out there who are very interested in licking egg

SD_Paulo This is a really good mango site. It has good info on all the different kinds of mangos. It has a 'mango viewer' that kinda rates the different varieties. It has a good viewer on Dragonfruit as well. The second link I put on here has a really good tropical fruit forums with lots of calif members as well as the rest of the nation who are really into growing tropical fruit. You can probably find out which varieties would do best in your area from the ones that grow them in So Cal. I do pretty good with most tropical fruits except for avocados...they hate me for some reason LOL!! I am also jealous of the color that the west coasters get on thier blood oranges..we don't get that deep blood color on our here. I just recently got a longan and a starfruit tree and some rambutan fruits so I can try and sprout the seeds lol.
