You know something... until I went back and looked I have never noticed how much the females in the second and fourth photos look so much alike. If I didn't know better I would swear they were the same chicken.​

haha that's one thing I love about raising birds...is that when people see my birds they think they all look alike and they get this look of wonder on their face when I start calling them by name and telling them who is related to who and etc haha. You are right tho...they do a have quality about them that makes them look very similar

Vicki~ Sorry, got side tracked and didn't answer your question about his silver color. No he has some very light and pale gold leakage in the saddles and slightly in the shoulder. I think there may be a touch of pale gold leakage at the bottom of the hackle as well.

The eye, beak and shape of the head. It helps that they both have a similar pose, maybe that is what makes them look so much alike.

haha...nice! What did you load yours with?

I think I might have gotten a dose of reality this morning when I did chores and then again after I started moving some more birds out of my grow out pens. The snow here kind of snuck up on me...and so I'm feeling like until I grow out these youngsters from mid summer and fall hatches that were unexpected...I need to behave. I guess I'll just have to try for next year. Maybe by then I'll have all my new pens built and etc...sigh.

I loaded 13 eggs. From my Ameraucanas, EEs, and 3 large pullet eggs from one of my BCMs. These will be mutts - EEs and OEs because the ladies have been running with my Black Copper cockerel, my Blue Copper and a couple of Blue Ameraucanas. A total crap shoot. Just for fun.

Just finished building a GInormous brooder - grow out box in the basement to house all these little guys for the winter - and the 11 2 week olds that I already have. Just about to move them ....
