Ok...I'll have to see...are they a post you did this a.m.? I was just outside torturing my brother with my fuzzy cat poncho. That cat wants to be held by him so bad...! my brother doesn't really like cats haha

Yes Ma'am.

I have that thread open on another window. I like those BLRW girls...the only thing I don't like about the blue is the shafting in the feathers...But body wise they are nice! I looked at barnies for a long while before deciding what kind I was going to get when I finally settled on the Marans. I decided against them because I didn't like the way the LF look yet. I love the bantams! If the LF had the same crispness of patterning and body type, I'd be all over them!

Yes, Precious is just 18 months old. Are any of your gals with the white suspected carriers of carnations??

A couple of the girls from Florida have them and one of my older Davis girls (Charmin) has some, though Charmin's have just started happening and the 2 BC girls from Florida have yet to do their adult molt so I am waiting to see. Charmin's came in after her last molt that she just finished not too long ago. Charmin did not throw carnations when crossed to Gnarles. The 2 Florida girls will be tested if they ever lay an egg again.
Lil' Bill has 2 just now coming in over his left eye.

How odd. Her eyebrows are so white, she puts me to mind of Andy Rooney, God rest his soul. She is hard to get to with a camera, but I'll see if I can't trap her in the coop and take some.

Thanks!
I don't care for her shafting either, but specifically kept her for her body type...she closely resembles the Barnies. As we know the barn structure is what I have to work on first, then I will work on the shafting. A friend stopped by a couple weeks ago to pick up all of my Barnie cockerels from this year and she had her Bantam Barnies in the back of her van with her because she was on her way home from a show. I loved them! They were too sweet!

I will have to send you some close up shots of the LF lacing and crispness....you will be amazed. It is hard to see on my girls because they are so dark, but it is there. I will have you hooked on Barnies someday...I promise. Lap chickens for sure!

I bet they were! I can't wait to see the progress on the blues! I am trying to remember what I saw yesterday and where I saw it...it was a bird with the most brilliant red against this dark piercing blue and looked awesome together.

Debbi and Vicki~

Is this a better close up of this boys hackles?

Forgot to mention that he also has the rudimentary toe and missing the toenail and some fluff at the tail break. Poor boy...I can find lots of reasons not to hang on to him but for some reason can't drop the final curtain.

Vicki ~ Funny that you mentioned the Leopard Appys this morning. My neighbor across from me, has I don't know how many Leopards! I think he has 5 or 6 stallions over there too. I would like to find a smaller Jenny in white and see if I couldn't pair it up with one of his smaller stallions. He's kind of an odd duck, but I bet he'd go for it, especially to keep me quiet. The housing for the stallions is highly illegal here! I don't know what's keeping them in really, especially when my other neighbor's paint mare comes into heat. Lots of bellowing and squealing going on!

I think a matched driving pair of mini appy mules would be soooooo neat!

The leopard appys and any blues, in roan, dappled or any color formation are my favs! Now if there were such a thing as a blue leopard appy I'd be all over it!

If you are able to pull that off, you better know you are going to have to share tons of pics with me!!!

One day I will own a horse....one day!

and did you say he was or wasn't from the birds you thought might throw birchen?

He is pure Davis and from one of the BC hens from Florida (I told Debbi yesterday I was clueless on who his mother was but looked in my notebook and it is a BCM just don't know which one, didn't mark it down

), and Gnarles. I got a Splash Birchen from Bill in one of my late hatches last year. This is the first one to pop up like this from the Davis birds.
