Oh my, I feel like I'm in that 9th grade Algebra class, all I did was stare at the teacher with this stupid look on my face, and the teacher asking me why am I looking at him like I was going to be sick, and all I could say was "How the heck can you add A and B and get C. I didn't do too well in his class, but I sat next to a very cute boy, who knew what he was doing, we shared notes

. But I won't give up until I understand this, really I not dumb, it just takes a while. Oh I got it maybe someone could draw some pictures for me.
So I go to the Ohio Nationals and win a pair of White Ameraucana Bantams. They would be.....

You then take F-1 (boy) and F-1 (girl) add them together and you get F-2 right
Then you can take Bird A (father) and F-1 (daughter) and you get B1A
Where the heck did the A come from ? AHHHHHHHHHHH

I knew there was a reason why I hated Algebra, you shouldn't be adding letters its to confusing.

lol... the A is what you called one of the parent birds. In your example...the daddy.
So B(backcross) 1(first generation back cross) A(it was back crossed to parent bird A) There it is B1A

You could name the parents L and M but maybe that would get confusing. B1L...B1M...lol ok forget I wrote that...

Don't feel bad Mistricer, I have a better understanding of Latin than I have of Algebra. LOL
I taught college/university fine arts courses for 22 years.....but, whenever I'd walk into a chemistry or math class room and see all the math problems written on the chalk board, I'd break out in a sweat and my blood pressure would rise, and I wasn't even a student.

I appreciate numbers for their shapes.
Different people learn in different ways, this is why teachers state the same theory in different ways. Only my math/chemistry teachers said it one way and one way only.

Oh my, that's exactly what I was thinking!! Algebra and I did NOT get along either! Don't try so hard, just kind of suck it all in, and in time it will become like osmosis. I just try to keep it simple in my mind, and keep reading. The good thing is, if the stuff gets lost in there, I can always come back in here and ask....again!

Just candled a handful of my Silkie eggs - day 6 - WE HAVE GROWTH!!!!!!!!!!!!! One little blue/splash quite p.o'd by the light. A little wiggle machine!!!! Both blacks are growing. Only 1 white but 1 is better than none!!!

Saw some activity in one of the lavender eggs as well. VERY exciting.

(More importantly, I only found 3 or 4 that really appeared to be clear.)

Good deal!! Hope you have a great hatch! I have to candle mine this weekend...hoping for more whites, splash, and blacks this go around! I am over run with Partridges

ahhh!!! Sorry Katelyn..I am still workin on them. I'm taking advantage of the weather as much as possible since it didn't rain the last two days and also got called into work as well and threw off my day a bit. I'm afraid I might have a bad case of spring fever....

My thrill was selling them and giving away 9 little roos.... the 9 roos just made my day! Now if I could just get rid of the BIG roos too.

Unfortunately, if won't stay that way here for too much longer, more roos on the way; but at least now I have an outlet for them!
