We just skimmed over it the other day as to whether or not to cull for in chicks since it is a fault and not a dq. I am culling for it. I think after a week or so they are losing it so I am sticking with my tags at hatch. Better safe than sorry.
Wow, I would've assumed a DQ. Good to know. Not had that problem yet...would have to weigh the pros and cons according to the other qualities of the bird. But if I remember correctly, those that have had it said it passes on fairly easily, so if I were to use such a bird, I would test mate first. Does anyone know if it only shows on the males, or do females show the middle toe feathering too?? Seems to me, I've only seen male examples??
