Yeah, this is a pet peeve of mine, too. There is someone advertising on our local CraigsList, $45 each---Copper Maran, Splash Maran, Blue Copper Maran "Exceptional Roosters" so the ad said--well if that person had such good stock, don't you think he or she would know enough about the breed to spell it correctly? Oh, and the ad was also for some "Americauna" hens

Yeah, I feel the same way about the Golden Salmon. I read about folks breeding Gold Duckwing and Golden Duckwing Marans when they speak of the Golden Salmon. Well both those color carry the Silver gene.....

Oh, and the Red Duckwing they use to describe GS carries the Mahogany gene..

None of them are plain Golden Salmon. You'd think if they were going to breed a variety,
they would at least know it's proper name

Good morning all. Another hot one here today, yesterday was 105. Thankfully, the humidity was about 17%, so that did help. I haven't even looked at today's temps, it will be pretty much the same I'm sure. Sure not looking forward to the 4th of July out here!! There are bound to be an outbreak of major fires from idiots setting off fireworks...

Kim, I'm having the same problem with getting booted off here too. Try to reply to a post, enter my text, and a window pops up telling me to enter something before I submit?? Dial-up, ya gotta love it..

We are starting with rains this morning--wish I could send some your way! THen clearning and the temperature will rise and be muggy I"m sure. I'm glad to stay home today, except for the fireworks tonight. THis morning will be a good time to tackle the chores before the heat sets in. Did I say I hate the heat!

Vicki, did you make it through the night, I don't see you?? I feel your pain about the AC, been there quite a few times. Did that Pit Bull ever show up at your place??

I had to water the garden 3 times yesterday just to keep it from dying. Went out for the second time around noon to re-water the chooks, and the whole garden was wilted!

The heat's not getting my maters!!! I haven't even gotten to eat one yet!!

I made it lady! I was so freaking hot and tired by the time I got home that I didnt last too long before I fell asleep. I'm hopin work will get itself sorted out so it doesn't turn into an even bigger mess. I'm off today, so I'm grateful for the extra time to work on stuff here at home. Got chores done nice and early before the heat rolls in and I guess we're supposed to get rain sometime today, but haven't heard any more about it. Its not gonna cool down tho they said

Do you have any containers around you don't care about lady? Like milk jugs or water jugs? If you do, poke several holes in the bottom and put one or two around the base of each of your tomato plants and fill them up with water. They will steadily release water all day long to help your plants get through in the inbetween times when you have watered. I've done it that way for years and it really makes a difference!

I like his eye color, copper color and the amount of it. Looks like he will get a good amount more when he finishes maturing. Like his comb and his leg color too. Looks like he will be a keeper for a while longer.
How old is he again?
