Slick KNOWS!I think I missed something...why is it Slicks fault?
I think I have roomDebbie I am so sorry about your Showgirl its always the favorites!![]()
Donna you know you want to. Be sure to leave room for the 2 dozen Cuckoos we have coming, they should ship out about next Monday!
After looking out there, it looks like about 5 or so of my 5-9 week olds are roos, so there are possibilities, if he's not a keeper!Vicki, sounds really good for the future of the Black Copper marans. I believe after the Juvie all will have good color. After they molt back in would love to see pictures of them.Hey Don,
I was checking my oldest cockerels growing out, the ones I've shown pics of and things are looking really good. I didn't have my camera with me, but can get photos before too long I hope. The BCM boy has only about a 1/4" white spot at the tip of an outside wing feather on one side and not quite 1/2" on the other. This is the most he's had since we was a baby. The blue copper boy has about the 1/4" or so size on the tips of one feather on each wing and just the very tip of one of his tail feathers has a faintly whitish cast to it oh and his lovely white feather on each outside toe. And the blue copper girl only has a white toe feather on each foot. I am well pleased with the efforts to reduce the white in the birds! They have not gone through their Juvie molt yet either so I'm hopeful for them . Now I can't wait for next year's hatching and I don't even have all my other birds grown out yet.
Sounds good. I can do that for you. They are roughly about 17 1/2 or so weeks now I think. I can't remember exactly without looking but I'd be willing to bet thats within a day or two. So they should hit molt I'd think in about a month or so, maybe sooner, its hard to know for sure. I also have a black birchen that's split for gold that I'm going to hold onto from that set of hatching trays to see what I can work with. Mostly just as insurance in case these birchen eggs I have cooking don't hatch well. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed and a half!Vicki, sounds really good for the future of the Black Copper marans. Awwww...YAY! She's a beauty! About the same size as the ones I have here when they were born. So happy for you!You guys are killing me! I haven't taken baby Birchen photos yet.....but I do have a couple photos of Baby Jane Dough. 1 goatie baby looks like all I'm going to get. Loosey and Jane are doing great. Went down to check this morning and there she was.
Birchen photos will follow sometime today.Have some errands to run in town and must go get silly things like feed and groceries.![]()
Had a semi good hatch with the Copper Marans and a good hatch with the Barnies too. One of the Birchen babies seems to have a get up and go issue, not splay leg, but close. I am going to hobble it this morning and see if it helps.
Okay....hoping the Mods don't mind and I don't get in trouble for posting these in the Marans thread....but Bill was right outside the door the entire time I was with the goaties so it almost counts as Marans related. LOL!
She looks just like her Mommy.
