Yesterday was the very first rain we have had here in a month or better. Most folks around me didn't get a drop, it was very localized. At least the grass didn't sound like I was walking on sand this morning, but it sure did again this evening. More showers possible tonight, but I'm not seeing it yet..

wow fried , dehydrated, cut worms!! yuck. Hope the tomatoes are surviving the drought. I know they like the heat! Glad for the 1 inch of rain--softens the ground for the next rain. DO you know a good rain dance?

My 2 children are good for bug hunting. Tonight it was scouting for Japanese beetles to feed the chooks! I'll put them on a tomato worm hunt when I see leaves disappearing.
Not unless I got stupid drunk, and then I would worry I might call up something I sure didn't need or want!

No state wide ban here. Each city or county makes the call on Fireworks. In Nashville it is Illegal and has been as long as I can remember, never been enforced TIL this year. They are handing out citations left and right and confisating the fireworks left.

Funny, I have not heard the first one go off.

I think will all the little fires maybe people see the need to NOT shot them off.

I saw a lady that works at one of those tents pleading people to buy fireworks...... NO STATE WIDE BANS, Safety first..... right! You are not making any money.

My Little town of Ashland City the Mayor wanted a fireworks ban but didn't have the power to impose one

I am like you Debbi, I am afraid they will still do it after the little rain we had. I am just going to stay clear and I hope nobody burns my house or farm down as the farm is on 68 wooded acres.

I think my neighbors across the road bought out the whole fireworks tent and can't light them fast enough.....they have the big giant ones that are making the windows rattle. I hope they finish soon
