This is my third year celebrating my birthday on BYC. I think it was two years ago when the thread actually got shut down on my birthday. It SUCKED big time! It was my Bday and all I wanted was time away from all my real life responsibilities so that I could hang out with my friends in the virtual party land on BYC. Then the thread got shut down because a couple of other folks on here weren't playing nice.... Once again, it sucked...

I couldn't get another thread started for my marans friends and me to hang out for the night... I had to just go to bed..

Glad to see the new faces

and I am really glad there are some folks around this year to celebrate with me!

My kids went to a church Fall festival this evening... My son came home with a plate of cupcakes... How appropriate - cupcakes on my BDAY... Yum Yum..

Hey guys, I posted this a few days ago but no responses. If any of you have a little time, could you look over my chickens and give me your opinions. Thank you!

I have been reading a lot about the faults and DQs regarding show quality Marans.
Since I am completely new to chickens, I need help!

He's about 5-6mths old. Would really like to know if it would be worth it taking him to a show or not. lol
All opinions welcome. I need to learn!!!! THANKS!





I also have two blue pullets. Both are supposedly from a line that have the mega dark eggs.

I know she has the twisted comb and some copper in one of her wings. Light feathering on her feet.



This one is younger 4mths old I think? She's a little silly but actually lets me catch her. Her comb is straight so far and she has better leg feathering.



Besides what I mentioned above that's about all I know about these birds!

Any of them worth taking to a show?

That is a posting that is CALLING for GILAVINA's attention. I do not have any experience with the Silver Birchen and that is why I did not comment

Good night every one... I am heading to bed. I hear SANDY is going to drop our lows to the 30's tomorrow night. We put the orchids in the garage this evening. BURRRRRrrrr, who let the cold out ? This is Florida, What is mother nature thinking? ? ?
