I wanted to share photos of my Back Copper and Blue Copper bantam Marans hens. They both won 1st BV, and the blue won BB at the National Meet this past weekend. I was so happy with them they laid everyday we were gone and did not even stop when we came home. That is the first time that has ever happened with any of my hens!!

Forgive me, but how can these birds win with white ears or a black eye? Their type is very nice for sure but I understood that white ears and black eyes were at least faults if not dq. Please, explain.

These birds were lovely - I saw them in person. Nicol is working very hard on them, and it certainly shows! GREAT job, Nicol!

One needs to remember that the first variety of this breed was only just accepted into the APA in 2011! And that was large fowl black copper. We have a VERY VERY long way to go - these birds are works in progress, but Nicol is building type first - as we should all be doing. Type is the MOST important.

Hi Hi! Congrats on your chicks! You will love them for sure! I'm am probably wrong but I think the first chick is a male and second one is a female. Hope others come by to give their opinions.
