Shelley, at MSU it was explained to me unless you had a sterile environment to keep the chicks in it would be a waste of time to vaccinate them after 24 hours.

Dr Peter Brown recommends to vaccinate everyone, as a first time thing, no matter what the age.

ETA: What difference would it make, as I do not have Mareks to start with. Would that matter? I mean, since I don't have Mareks, is it ok to vaccinate them all?

Kathy, Peter Brown is not a doctor he went to college to work in the poultry industry, but is not a vet. I know people with small numbers of young birds that vaccinate all of the young everytime they have a new batch hatch. This is not possible for me when I have between 1000-1200 young. It definitly will not hurt them to vaccinite. i think you should do a little research on Mareks before you say you do not have it in your fowl.

Here are a few photo's of Gnarles my Blue Copper Roo. He will be 1 year old on Aug. 19....please don't hold back any comments. It's all good to me!

No sir...it is not. No sprigs here, but I know exactly what you are seeing that would make you ask that. Gnarles has a sorta funky comb, 4 nice points and the 5th-ish just before the blade is split. His comb doesn't bother me in the slightest as I am not focusing on combs right now. I will get a good photo of his comb later, charging batteries again.
