WOW that's fantastic luck/fortune!!! I hatched some eggs that came to me from CA, but nothing like those numbers! Congrats!!My lovely BBS Marans, they are 7 weeks old. I was lucky enough to get 7/8 hatch rate shipped from Florida to CA with 2 Roos and 6 Pullets. They are delightful and beautiful!

Thank you very much! It was very exciting as it was my first hatch. I used my Brinsea Mini Advance for 7, all but one hatched, the 7th could be heard peeping but never pipped :^( A friend of mine took the other 3, one had a crack from shipping, we put wax on it to try that out, it didn't work (I don't count that one towards the rate rate due to it being cracked before going into the bator).
I've heard the the hatch rate is much lower for shipped eggs, but luckily I did not experience that!

There are two very dark blue(just a bit of copper on one of their wings), one black with copper coming through on the neck and wings, and five splash. I was convinced the black was a roo up until a week ago when the 2 splash roos became very red combed and the black stayed pinky like the pullets! I'm planning on keeping one roo for my flock of varied breed hens and 3 of the pullets. It's very hard selling any of them though. I become so attached and was in tears yesterday as I sold one of the pullets and one of the roos. I'm sure others feel this same way, especially when you hatch them yourself!

This stuff looks like it would be perfect for shipping eggs (the answer to our prayers) !!! Of course there would be other factors surrounding the packing and shipping that could cut hatch rates .......... i guess even shipping by wells fargo armor van bad things could happen .I ordered a dozen White Marans eggs and got 18! But I have a question- where can I get those foam shippers?
In the eighty's i had 15 eggs shipped usps and hatched 14 ........ these were uniquely packed using only sheets of newspaper(and common sense) , i have never seen anything that looked like it would work as well till seeing these foam egg shippers(and common sense) ..... but are these as good as they look ??
I ordered a dozen eggs from a person many ears back and when i opened the box there set 12 eggs in an egg carton (all broken to heck) they did put an el-cheapo paper towel around the outside of carton (lol) .
