Ok so my two Marans I'm thinking are both pullets but wanted to post some pics for opinions again since they're getting bigger

One of them the tail feathers stick straight out. The other seem to stick up. Just wondering if that's something?

lol; mixed flock of breeds and ages, about 30 girls out there; got TWO eggs yesterday

4 ladies at 29 weeks, only one is laying. BUT she gives us an egg every single day.
I expect eggs from my newest girls, including my GCM, in March-May.

They're very slow to start laying again after their molt, but I'm starting to get a few eggs.

BCM pullets are cranking out #6.5-7 on the Marans scale almost every day, hens still in a slow molt and not laying but one or two here and there. Except the Golden Buff in the layer flock, those two give a jumbo egg every day including while they are molting.

I have two red sexlinks so that I will always have eggs to eat and cook with. I get two eggs a day from them every day without fail.

My this year's Marans have been laying up a storm. I turned the lights on a timer on a couple of weeks ago and now the rest of the slackers are starting to lay again. I even got an egg out of a Blue Copper Marans this morning that is by herself. She went broody over a month ago, I broke her of that, but have not seen an egg since until today! She must have heard me say she was going to be included in the next butcher run...

well no electric up at my coops so not an option. I will have to say several of the girls in the layer house are pretty ancient and destined for the soup pot soon. All of my birds have been in a hard molt this year, including the pullet that hatched last Jan. so have been giving the benefit of the doubt for a bit. But their time is coming sooooon.....
