Those prices do not include shipping. Of course everybody's shipping will vary depending on where you live. By the time I add in shipping (and the pads from Cutler Supply, they are not included in the box price), they cost me close to $5.50 each.

I emailed Cutler to find out how much shipping would be to my zipcode.

You can easily check shipping just by putting the items in your cart. Then there is a place to calculate shipping. Just don't pay for the order unless you want it. I do that all the time on websites.

LOL. When all else fails, read the manual. Or something like that.

I emailed to make sure I would get an accurate quote as opposed to what the shopping cart might say.

Shipping seems to be too high, is this the correct charge?

Someone from Cutler Supply contacted me about shipping being higher than was figured on the Internet. Why would it be higher?
If you ordered an item which is drop shipped from the manufacturer the shipping will probably not be correct because it is figuring the shipping from MI and it is actually being shipped from the manufacturer in another state. For example some of our incubators come from CA and if you live on the East coast the shipping will be figured like it is being shipped from MI not the West Coast. However, most of the manufactures we sell for are located in one of the Eastern States.

Thanks, I never thought to do that. However I am west, so maybe if I called, shipping quote would be higher ?

Keep in mind we were talking about shipping eggs in chick boxes so no need for the pads. I think shipping was about $7-8 for the boxes so that would bring it up to about $3 each...... doable for shipping a few eggs.

For those who want to use them for shipping chicks, you don't need the pads. I've had private breeders ship them to me with shavings in them instead of the pad.

TSC has some fat shavings that are too big for the chicks to eat, and too big to fly out the little holes, so that is what I'm going to use when I start shipping chicks.
