@Chooks man, ok, on looking at my roo in actual sunlight, not cloudy or rainy, he is a bit darker. I will try to get a pic today. But whatever he is, I'm just gonna send you pics of my birds and let you tell me what to breed when lol.

I am no longer going breeding FBCM toward the SOP. I gave the trio to a family member that lives with me and she is breeding for egg color.

This isn't a "Breeding to the SOP" thread, is it?

We are just talking genetics, but you can breed however you like. If you have certain goals, however, it's fine to ask for help on achieving them.
No worries!
Egg color is definitely their most definitive feature.

breeding chooks is fun .
the camera is very important when breeding chooks .we can take photos of the bird at different stages of they life . easy to evaluate them later .

I mainly just read the thread but sometimes I’ll post if I have a question. I’ve had 2 Marans before. Black Copper and Blue Copper. I really like the breed and want to get more in the future.
