Kathyinmo- I think I like the number 6 bird, too. I'm no expert, but does the white feathering in the #4 bird bother anybody? I guess I eliminated him in my own mind because of that.

Yes, it's a little after 3 a.m. Why am in not in bed?

Because I just got off work!

I'm sure all the early morning risers will have additional comments, but I really am curious about the white under the hackle feathers on #4.

OOOps .. I lied.. I like number 3 better than 4 but I think there may be one I like better than 3... Kinda appears roach backed... I want to take anothe look in the morning... Still haven't come off my top bird number 6... I just like that one real well. It was number 3 not 4 that had the good copper along with 6....(hazards of staying up too late.)... Thanks for making me look agian Ivywoods

I did not see if any comments / concerns about the feathering on #4's legs. . . Cochin like in amount (IMO).

Due to # 4 's white feathering and heavy feathered feet and light colored feet - - -I would pick

#6 and # 3 as the two to keep . . . .

#4 and #7 I would cull as they have the white hackle undercolor. #6 looks to be very nice. #8 is the one we all need to breed to the dark females and put some color on the young fowl. I really like #8.

Congrats!

Give them a couple weeks to settle into their new digs and routine. They may even surprise you and give you an egg sooner than that. Depends on the bird really, some hens I can move around from pen to pen and they don't miss a beat, others..well let's just say that they don't like being moved and it takes as long as it takes for them to start laying again.
