Ayone else from here going to join in Mahonri's 2nd Annual New Year's Hatch???? We are setting eggs on Dec.11th. GEEBS??????

I want to do a Christmas hatch if I can get eggs in time but will do New Years if they are late. Hoping to get BCM, Blues, Splash, and GCM

I have a duck going broody her eggs should take 35 days to hatch. I could set some blue coppers but I'm trying real hard not to lol.

I want to play along too, but I'd definitely have to buy some eggs.

Silly question time: I currently have a trio of black coppers. Can I keep blue coppers with them (like BBS in other breeds?) or should they be kept separate? A lot of the genetics and color stuff still goes way over my head.

Just went out to the coop, and pullet number 2 is in the nest box! Stepped away from the door, heard her jump out of the box and the "egg song" begins. OOoo, ooo. Look inside, no egg. "Listen here sister, you can't sing the song until after you lay the egg!" With that, she jumps back up into the box and snuggles in. May have egg #2 today!!

Thanks! That's what I thought, but wanted to make sure before I go looking for eggs. My husband is going to KILL ME
