Mornin' Geebs!!

Sorry to hear about your fire! I can't even imagine losing it all. At least the very important things (your family!) was spared. I also made the firefighters aware of the chicken coop should there ever be a fire here! Guess it's time to go let the chooks out of the coop, they don't seem to care about the cold

Rain??? Ewww. I'd much rather have snow than rain this time of year. Good way to warm up here this morning, is to go outside! Still 17* with a wind chill of 7*. Then come back into 57* and voila, you're warm and thankful!

They are calling for snow here Friday or Sat.

The GFF girl guilty of laying her first egg yesterday.

And the 3 GFF boys that are headed for a freezer nap.
Wry tail and white hackle feathers on the left, crooked toes and white hackle feathers in the center and on the right the big ol' squirrel tailed overly red boy. The photo may not make Mr. Red look as though he has squirrel tail but trust me he does, but he doesn't have any white in his hackles

Poularde~

They were shipped as chicks. Thanks, yes it is too bad, my favorite was the one on the left but then he had to go and pop some white hackles out and then that tail............ARHG!!!!!

Jan~ Thank you! That is the girl that you and Don favored the most last month when I posted photos of them. I seriously hope her egg color improves. There are 3 pullets that are very nice from that batch with good hackle color and another one that has hackles almost as good as the first 3, one that does not show any copper at all, and upon closer inspection yesterday all of the girls 'cept the one have some copper in their necks.

The middle one has crooked toes and white in the hackles. I believe he is also carrying too many melanizers.

When you have a wry tail, is it held cock-eyed all of the time?? As in permanently held to one side or the other?

That Gnarles is definately a ham sandwich!

Courtunix they are cute babies. At that age I wouldn't be too worried about greenish eyes yet as long as they turn pumpkin later. At that age I have had babies with real dark almost black eyes and also light green eyes. They all turned orangish. I think some of the different lines must have either light or dark eyes when they are young. I have some blues that just started getting thier pumpkin eyes at 4 mos. I really was beginning to think they would end up with black eyes, it took so long lol!!

Berkley I really love your wheaten girls!
