Not Wynette here, but will say that it is hard to tell a pinched tail unless you are looking,,, uhhem...

up her skirt,.... as it were! A view from the back would show you a pinched tail.... if it is there.

I so happen to have said photo up her skirt. LOL I'm not familiar with pinched tails, so I'm not sure what they look like. To me, her hind end looks as normal as my other girls.

She's the one in the middle.

Quick question? My cuckoo rooster get in with the black copper one day. I fixed the problem now but I hatched 2 chicks that are brownish tan. What will they be? Just mixed? There really good looking

the one in the middle is not bad, getting a bit more spread on the tail on the two sides would make a big difference. Pinched tails most commonly refer to the tail being held closed, as in the left and right side of the hard feathers on the tail hold close together rather than like an open teepee shape. For me, I also consider how spread out the tail is up and down wise, I don't like it when the hard feathers stack on top of each other, I like being able to see them. I can find you an example of a good open tail.

Here's another shot of an open tail from the side, see how the feathers are spread out rather than coming to a point and stacking on top of each other? I hope I'm making sense, its hard to explain when not in person haha

Maybe this will help some. I think this information is GENERAL too and shows what to look for in the tails. Some info might be specific to a wyandotte sorry, best I have access too to help illustrate proper tails.

Gonna do some serious DEEP CULLING soon! Tails and EYES are going to be two big things I am going to work for next. Seems egg color is taking care of itself. I have a new pullet laying the PRETTIEST DARKEST EGGS I have ever gotten! Nice even color and that sheen. I have 2-3 girls laying impressive eggs this year.... just need to figure out who

I am also getting the coveted ROUND eggs
