A breeder sold me these two Marans, She said they were Blond Salmon, But I have never heard of this. Also their coloring is differnet from each other, their feathering is different, they are both the same age born about june 16th, I can't even find anything online that talks about them. So I am wandering if they are some sort of mix or If there is some sort of genetic mess up in the breeding.

This is the golden salmon maran I got from the same breeder. I don't know if all 3 have the same parent stock or if they were different mothers or what. Cuz she only had one Golden Salmon Maran Rooster.

I have never heard of Blonde Salmon....however I will say that the chick on the left in the top photo looks like a Wheaten. Can't see the chick in the bottom photo well enough to guess, but the color does look similar to Golden Salmon. Salmon Marans varieties do have Wheaten in their genetic make up along with some other stuff that makes the Salmon pattern and coloring.

Is a Golden Maran a pure bred? That bottom chick looks like one of mine!

Could I please get some opinions on these GCM chicks. I am still learning, so it would be helpful to get some feedback and pointers . . Thanks!

What I am really liking about my Marans is that they are calm, confident and smarter than some of my other chicken breeds. Really looking forward to their dark eggs too!

My rooster chick~

A couple of my pullets~
