Several more hatched over night and they are all black. I emailed the breeder. I saved up for months to get the whites, and I want the whites now, not in 6 months when I can save up money again.
The breeder should absolutely make it right, and right now. You'll be a month behind (incubation/mailing time) is all. Make sure the parents are BOTH white if you didn't get photos before. Sorry this happened. It's frustrating.
I can't wait to show you the blue we hatched from your eggs on New Years, he is a gorgeous dark blue with a very deep mahogany coming in. Very excited to see him grow out!
6 weeks in this picture! Very handsome Roos, very exciting

Here's the final results (I put them in the bucket I used to carry shavings in so I could get a good pic).
2 Cuckoo
3 that are presumably Black Coppers
1 that I HOPE is white and not wheaton, I'll know for sure when it sprouts it's wings.
I'm not complaining about 6 chicks out of 18 eggs, I am well aware that shipped eggs often hatch poorly. So no blame to the breeder there, the eggs were packed well.
I emailed the breeder a couple days ago and no reply. This is a very reputable breeder who is placing well in the shows. It's possible she was out of town or something and didn't see my email yet. But if I don't hear today, I'll email again.
The eggs were marked with codes on the ends (not variety names, just mysterious strings of letters and numbers). I will take a picture of the hatched and unhatched eggs showing the codes so she will know what she sent me.
I bought this roo from carriebain. He is hatched from eggs from Dmrippy. His name? Bleu, duh. He is such a nice guy. picture here with my kiddo at 16 weeks. he is in a growout pen with a hatchmate BCM pullet and a gorgeous BLRW pullet that is 2 weeks younger. Bleu is IN LOVE with CLeo, our little BLRW but who could blame him. She is a stunner
