Marans Thread - breed discussion & pictures are welcome!

What is the ratio for a gallon of water to the Corid? I stood and looked at the label, only to be baffled by so much per 100 gallons.

I am using the 20% powder, so I am putting 1/2 tsp. per gallon

rustyswoman~ Yesterday everyone seemed fine to me, but this morning I had 3 girls that would not leave the roost. A few have just sat by the water all day today and they looked fluffed up.

Here is the post I put yesterday morning and it has pics of some of the poo from my run. This morning though quite a few of them were pooing straight blood!

Darn, I was hoping it wasn't Cocci. Hopefully you will have caught it early enough. Good luck to you and your birds

I can not seem to find a good example of what "mossy" looks like on the web. If any of you all have some pics showing "mossiness" PLEASE post them . . . .

They are all looking better already! I think I did catch it in time.

Most are running around like nothing ever happened

I only have 2 out of the entire flock that still look a little tired. I'll have to see what tomorrow brings!

I have a really mossy girl but I don't have any pics of her on the comp at the moment. I'll try to get a pic of her later when I lock everyone up and get it posted if someone else doesn't post one first.

That is wonderful. I can't remember how long you have to dose them but I would do it the full time. Also not sure if you need to reduce the dosage to half strength at one point. I tend to get the meds mixed up and always have to read them again before using.

Wynette, I used a roo that was dark like that, more mahogany hackles than copper, and ended up with almost ALL pullets being black, with little or mostly NONE of them having copper hackles. Hope you do better with that roo. Not saying it is the same genetic makeup, just that he looked the same.
