He sure was big for his age. . .. But I always have to snigger about the people who buy culls that terribly cull-worthy.
I almost hated to sell him, he was such a nice size!
Biggest of the hatch, and soooo sweet .... always up in my face and posing for pictures!
Hey I have a boy who kinda looks like him. . . Nowhere near as orange, but quite big and upright, certainly not as sweet as my Guittard though. Gosh that cockerel could let a burglar pick him up and take him away without a kick or a peep. Really hope his temperament is genetic, because he's a one of a kind gem.

I know of many individuals who do chickens strictly for eggs for their own consumption. They don't care want breed they are or how impure the breed is. ALL they care about is the frequency and size of egg production.
they want a roo just so they don't have to buy chicks next season . . .
It reminds me of the ole saying "One man's trash, is another man's treasure "
I have put off posting on this thread, call me chicken! I am new to BCM's. I have a small flock of young birds. They are from a BYC member and of Bev lines. I also have one young roo bought seperately, that I want others to look at and give me comments. I only have this one pic to post now. But could get other shots if needed. In the picture he is about 22-23 weeks old. The individual I purchased from called his line "Cottage Hill". Thanks in advance for your input. I love the info onthis site and on this Marans thread!
Kathy..........I was going to ask who that last boy was in the group shot with all the red. I'm glad you posted the last 2 pics, because from the group shot with all that foot feathering he has, I thought he was a cochin!
He's a pretty boy!! No need to be "chicken" here, we're all on a learning curve. The more we see, the more we learn. I like the color of his feathers and legs, he looks to be a good size and should fill out more as he matures, nice tail set and back. I really like him, he looks like a keeper to me!
Kathy~ You can never say that you don't have nice birds again!!!!!
When you get to the point that you just can't stand them for one more second.......pack their bags and put them on the first flight out here to Washington. I'm sure I can find something to do with them.
Dave... Any other cool chickens you are hiding??? That is a fantastic example... The copper appears to be nice and even... Great comb... Great leg color ...Nice length of back... nice broadness in stature.. I really like the roo!!! What else ya got??
