I don't seem to find that listed...are you sure? Where is the citation? It is done at one day old and commercial farmers do not have any reason to do this.

Well, I don't mean to start an arguement, but WHY would anyone join such a group?? Have you read what exactly you can and cannot do with your own animals??? I am all for proper and humane care of all animals, but to have some agency tell me that my run to protect my chickens is "prohibited" is just one more outfit that needs to take a seriously LONG HIKE! This is just one more animal extremeist group that wants to do away with ALL animal ownership. This is how they sneak in and take control of OUR lives, one law at a time. Take a few minutes and read some of the things these folks want you to do. Some of it is common sense, most of it is ludicris! Thanks, but I'll pass!

This link is just for poultry, I didn't even get into what they want for cattle or sheep. Can't imagine wasting that much time either.

I am in favor of humane treatment of all animals, but this group is a little over the top.

2.3.2 Chicks, pullets and breeding birds should be obtained from Animal Welfare Approved farms and hatcheries. How many have done this?

Yes, and one in there states that "hens must not lay more than 280 eggs per year". Does that mean all Leghorns shall use a cork to stop production?? Give me a break!

I have a good one for you and then will shutup, One of these groups came to one of my friends farm and look at his sebastobol Geese and said they had a nutritional problem since the feathers were curled and he had to go to court to prove them wrong with witnesses.
