Marans Thread - breed discussion & pictures are welcome!

Yeh, my friends and family all think I've flipped when they try to call, and I don't answer the phone for a couple of hours. "Where have you been??" "Oh, I was having happy hour in the chicken run." "Whaaaaaaaaatttt????????"

Just don't mix wine and mealworms, it can get messy! Mealworms are the treat these guys would knock me down for. Wish I had a pic of that. Sitting in my chair in the run, nice glass of burgandy, two pullets sitting on the arms of the chair, and one in my lap!

My family and friends have gotten used to my chicken addiction, now when they call, the first thing they ask is 'so how are your chickens?'
I let my flock out to free range for an hour or so every eve before dusk. I enjoy the show and interaction as I sit in the backyard in my old rocking chair, with my glass of cabernet sauvignon.
Debbi, I'm glad to know I have a kindred spirit out there.

Here's to a comfortable chair, a sunset, a flock of happy chickens and a nice glass of red!!

This is my Blue Wheaten cockerel and my best Wheaten pullet in the breeding pen. My cockerel has aged quite a bit since my last photos, but his tail is really starting to bug me. It was nice looking, then bam! It grows sickles, lots of white fluff, and ends up a little lengthy. . .

But, he's still young.

OMG are those gorgeous birds. I want some, lol.

Yes, I would love to buy some BCMs, but it may be awhile until I'm ready to purchase. I still have to get my bator& brooder prepared. I will def. keep you in mind though when I'm ready. Thanks :)
