Woo-hoo! My coop kit is on the truck for delivery today!!

Looks like the rain will hold off till Friday, so SHOULD be able to get it together by then! Good thing too. Talked to the wife of one of my builders yesterday. One of the guys had QUADRUPLE by pass surgery the other day! He had gone in for a colonoscopy, they saw his heart was making some weird beats, and flew him to a major hospital where he had open heart surgery! Oh my gosh! Bless his heart, he is doing well, but to think in the 100* temps this summer when he was building my coop, deck, and garage, that he could've just dropped dead! They said he had a 98% blockage! Talk about a miracle!! Thank you Lord!!

Thank you friends! I am so addicted to these eggs and birds it's not funny! I just love them!

Charmin is my youngest blue copper that only has about 5-6 feathers in her hackle that have copper on them, but she has such good type and nice egg color that I am using her in the breeding pen, the next generation from her and Gnarles should make some nicely coppered babies. The other eggs from Bill's dtr's are from the blues that do not show signs of copper, all of my birds come from copper parents so they are all blue coppers. I am working on the copper balance with Bill's kiddo's as he is SOOOOOOOO dark. I have only been able to grow out one of his sons who had more copper than he shows and none of his dtrs that I have hatched and grown out have copper, Bill's kids are all products of test mating with some Davis Blue Copper and Black Copper hens and pullets. All I am hoping to gain from using Bill is his size and egg color gene be passed on to his offspring and I will work on other things from there. It's waaaaaay toooo much fun, I think I need therapy. On second thought.......nah!

Thanks Pink. I will surely post some pics when the itty-bitty coop is done. Maybe Fugs can be an olive egger roo some day? He sure won't be in my Marans breeding pen!

Yes my one runt BC lays the darkest egg so far. She was just filler in the box to keep the Blues company...
