Sorry, I have been away from the group for a while, I thought you were still talking about the black coppers.

The wheatens standard hasn't been tweaked by the standards committee yet.

If you want to have some input on the wheaten standard, I suggest you join the club and you will be able to comment when it's being done. The people on the standards committee are from the paid membership.

Bev,

I am a paid member. The only thing I've gotten so far is the election ballet, which I sent back in the return mail.

Hi Bev - I too am a paid member, since August, and not only have I not received anything other than the election ballot to vote on, my posts still aren't allowed to appear until after a review and then many still don't appear. I posted a simple post last night replying to what people feed their chickens and as of mid-day today, it still wasn't seen. So, not sure what they are voting on as far as SOP - maybe they've taken a break since August. Have they voted on leg/shank color for the BCMs????

Hi

Yes, we will try to get the black coppers accepted first and then the wheatens, after that it will be the cuckoo and white Marans. We have to do one at a time because there is so much involved. A lot of birds have to be bred by a lot of people.

I had already contacted someone about the delawares and was told to look for smut on them around 4 weeks. I was told there was no way to sex them this early . . .

So, I guess we could head over to the delaware thread. There are several on this thread that have marans AND delawares and might be able to help us - - -once they wake up

Sorry Lisa, I missed something here. What does the smut at 4 weeks indicate in the Delawares? I have Delawares coming Monday but they are grown birds but it will be good to know next season.
Thanks

Bev,

Can you please tell me when the B/B/S or Blue Coppers will come up? Seems like there are way more Blues than Whites, that I've seen around anyway. Is it because the Blues aren't yet recognized in the other countries as well, or are there actually more Whites in numbers? Thanks.
