Just now let the chooks out, brrrrr. Someone laid an egg off of the roost!

Looked like a soft shell, but thankfully, no one ate it. It was sitting sunny side up in the shavings. Cats had a nice treat..

I see it on one computer on the other is the old one? Granted I learned how to type on a type writer in high school, and in tec school, we had those big 5" floppy disks... Still ya would think I would be able to change an avatar without problems...

Happy Turkey Day everyone.

None of my marans can get over the fence but there is one spot that isnt covered by shadecloth and I have one little phoenix girl, one SLW, a leghorn, and a blue ameraucana that get out and do as they please on a regular basis. I bought some netting to cover that area but it is still rolled up and I haven't done it lol. Those 4 girls like to go prance around by the bachelor pens and get the roos all riled up. They go and steal the ducks dinner and sit on our lazy old black lab and eat her food. She doesn't care she just lays there and lets the chickens do what they want lol unless she has something really good like a juicy bone.

Well off to chain myself to the stove for the day lol. Sometimes I hate holidays....

THanks PinkChick and SewandGrow....I hope they keep getting darker. I have a friend that is a Head Chef at a nice restaurant in Chicago and I promised him the first dozen BC Marans eggs from this group. He has heard of the french chefs preffering them! Then I can eventually get the girls in with the roo for breeding.

The corn pudding is in the oven & I am having my coffee & checking out what all of you are up too. So sorry for all the bad weather some of you are having. It's a little chilly her but I can't complain.
I am thinking I would like to join the New Year's hatch. Now to get some new eggs......LOL

I'll be hanging out today making a few dishes for tomorrow, but tomorrow the real fun begins for me....making dinner for 40 peeps.

We celebrate Thanksmas here at my house because I have family spread out all over the place and for some of them it is difficult to get here for both holidays so we started a new tradition a few years ago to enable the whole family to be together. I am so stinkin' eggcited because my brother that I haven't seen in over 5 years is finally able to make it along with one of my sisters that I haven't seen for the same amount of time. Waaaaaaay too long to go without seeing them!!!!!!!! All of us under one roof finally.
