Jan~ Bev is working on Golden Blue Salmons and Silver Blue Salmons. The Golden Blues look like Welsummers (but blue and with gold hackles) and the Silver Blues look like Wellies only with silver hackles and on both color varieties, everywhere the bird would have been the orangy/rusty color will be blue with the partridge/duckwing pattern including the stippling on the feathers of the females, the males are blue with the duckwing pattern. YUMMY!!!!!!!!!! Kimmee needs some of those bad!!!!!

sorry.......I was wrong, I thought I remembered seeing them as all blue but must have been looking at another bird, they actually have some creamy orangy coloration with a blue colored underfluffy stuffy, sort of like a blue wheaten female or like that of a Blue Salmon Faverolle. Speaking of Fav's........I do soooooooo miss my Fav's, but I just didn't have enough room for them and had to make more available space for the Marans. The Marans have such a hold on me, it's quite scary, but a lovely and wonderful scary.

If it was a cockerel it wouldn't slow me down at all.....yes I would just cross it with a Splash hen, same results basically with the outcome, but I have found that using the a Splash or Blue roo when incorporating blue into another color variety gives the best results in terms of the blue color, all other aspects would be worked on from there, ie.......hackle, pattern and so on.
