Thanks Ivy! I don't think it would be a problem using a later hatcher, I think it would be okay because they beat the odds and prove that they are strong little boogers. With Marans as you know many have chickies that hatch on days 23-25, so in my mind it wouldn't be an issue. I have no idea why it was taking so long, 'bators run great and spot on in temp. I'm telling ya...I have better hatch rates when we have a power outage and most of the time they only hatch a day late. I set chicken eggs once in the same 'bator as some Pilgrim goose eggs and at the lower temp, they hatched perfectly, even though I opened the 'bator once a day to take the goose eggs out to cool. They never cease to amaze me.
