Congrats on your egg! I know exactly how you feel while not getting any of those pretties. It seems to be the hardest part to me about having Marans. All other breeding issues and faults aside.........just give me those pretty eggs!

FREEZING RAIN???? ACK! We had that Sunday. I actually graduated from a college in Missouri (Canton), and I recall it being much warmer there than here in Michigan...but as I grow older, it's harder to handle the cold, too, so that could be why!

I don't know about warmer in the winter here. I used to live in Adrian, MI years ago. You guys get more snow, we get that nasty ICE!! I'd rather have 3 feet of snow than 3" of ice!

Funny, the older I get, the more I can tolerate the cold. It's the humid heat that gets to me now...go figure?

DITTO!

Good point, Debbi! I dunno...I used to really enjoy winter. So long as I am warm. But...these last few years, I just hate all the bundling up that I have to do, hate the 300' treck to the barn I have to make several times a day....goondess, I was in the barn 1 1/2 hours this a.m. working just as FAST as I could and I still didn't get all my choring done. SIGH...

Sorry, I'm not usually so pessimistic.....am just not a fan of winter.

Can't say I blame you there! Kind of hard to walk when bundled like the Michelin man!

Surely, you have a snow mobile up there?? I couldn't believe how many of them there were when I lived there, they were like the second car of the house!

Now that's a great idea Lisa!!!!!! Kansas is heckof closer than Georgia for me. Besides, I would love to drive through Colorado again, if it were in the summer.

Pink loves the state of Colorado lots and lots of stuff!

KANSAS! KANSAS! Yes, I vote Kansas!

Kansas is good for me! Especially if that means folks coming through Colorado! YES!

I would like to sympathize with ya all.. but I need a wetsuit.. I need a boat to get to my barn... It rained an inch overnight.... I could just hear it pelting down on my roof (thank God for a new roof). It is a lake out in my pasture....I terraformed but the ditches are full. We are flooding. I must say though....not being cold to the bone is a good thing... The cayenne pepper in your feed actually has a warming effect for your critter.. don't go overboard on it... but some millet along with that and some BOSS will sure keep their internal thermostat working.. The Cayenne for ppl too... It will help keep ya moving ol ladies and gents... Tumeric too.. It does an ol body good.

Colorado is my most favorite state ever! I especially like the Ouray area. Spent a summer there when I was in my teens! LOVED IT and think if it often.

Math~ I would have to be counted out if it is only a girl thing. I go nowhere without my DH, we are joined at the hip.

geebsie, I am going to stop at my local feed mill this weekend (they only time I can make it there when they are open! SHEESH!) and see what ingredients they have...got to thinking after our conversation about mixing feed and me not having time...maybe my local elevator can do it for me!

I think a cement mixer would have an alternate use around here...Or an old washing machine... HMMM.... Or a composter... the kind on a wheel... Get that husband CRACKIN!!!

I just gave myself and Idea.. if I dump the grain down the bunghole on a plastic barrel... All I need to do is have a way to turn the barrel... HMMMMM... I am gonna work this out for ya Wynette... Oh and welcome....Long time no see... Glad to hear about the eggie... Are you on Mahonri's hatch for January... I hope so... I just threw some in the bator!!!
