We got between 10-12 inches of snow. The winds picked up and blew all night, so now that snow is all piled in drifts. They won't even bother to plow the roads until the wind stops blowing, and that will be a day or two. In the meantime, I'm getting my Christmas decorations put away, cleaning house, and wondering what to build for all these chickens I'm getting in March!

To me he is very handsome and a southern gentleman to boot! He is very considerate of his ladies. He lets them eat before him. He calls when the treats come. He is very gentle in the romance department. lol
We used to have a blue hen that was his mate, but she died and when she was sick and just laying around he would actually take food to her. Sighhhhh- It was very sweet.
Anyway-I only have a black marans hen left for him-Ms. P'Cock

New to the Marans-love them!
Wasn't sure what standard I have in a roo, other than he is a southern gent of course! Living in Georgia and all.

We are 4 times the size of the heritage fowl thread and we weren't even nominated. . . .

OK, I am over with my whining. . . I just spent the last 30 minutes cleaning out my inbox.
I am now only at 80%.

I think the chickies from the last hatching just hit a growth spurt. I swear they just grew 3 inches over night!

Hi guys and thank you for the nice compliments on the chicks.

Just wanted to jump in there (hope that was ok) I believe you are looking at the inside of the left leg on the little chick that looks like it is not feathered. Looks like he is raising his right leg....so you can't see the feathering

In the next photo you can see both legs (sorrrrry just wanted to add that

)
