I think peacombs only look good on birds with a fierce expression and large size. . . (Brahmas, Buckeyes, Shamos, Asils, Malays, etc)

Thanks the Birchen is from a very dark egg but a split silver/gold I might try a project with my cuckoos from the darkest eggs I have some that lay a 6.....that might be a worthy black I first want the egg color I'm saving your cheat sheet thanks so much...... I have some Silver Birchen eggs on order who knows what the color will be.......

As for your question flagardengirl, The hen is not mossy, she has a fair amount of nice copper that extends around neck area. The egg color she started with was maybe a 4 and keeps getting better. She has been laying for about 4 months now.


I am happy as my roo's and girl's both are nice birds and I was worried egg color would not be up to par.
