You might say that the same color patterns from the black coppers correspond to the blue coppers, just substitute blue for black. The copper is in the same place on both.

Okay the word is in from Bev about the Blue Copper Color DRAFT Standard and the questions about: Female Upper Breast.
Breast: Upper breast, blue with narrow lacing of coppery orange. As (Marquisella stated) it has not been submitted for approval yet, and is still being worked on, the individual color drafts were posted for all to see and discuss, before approval for clarification and changes.

So, the Blue Copper female will be the same as the Black Copper female, no lacing of coppery orange in the upper breast, breast should be blue and front of neck only will have Blue with narrow lacing of coppery orange. Now I would assume that the neck color should not advance past a certain point down the front of the neck and I am guessing that it should stop before hitting the upper breast. What are your thoughts on this folks?

The Copper blue female, should be just like the black copper, with copper only on the hackle feathers. I'm not sure if there is a specific length of hackle feathers.
The tail feathers should all stop about at the same place, there should not be any "stragglers" hanging down. The tail is not supposed to be "long & flowing"
Sue

Sue~ Sorry I should have been more clear, I was referring to where the color in the hackle and front of neck should stop not the length of the hackle feathers.

In regards to the tail:
Is this considered too long?

geebsie would say yes...(I thinks she's a fan of short)

ETA, for me personally, I look at the whole picture from the side. Should look overall in good balance.

The reason I ask is that just before his molt that he just finished, his tail was not this bushy and the feathers weren't this long.

Thank you Wynette. He will stay regardless of his long tail, but he really does support good overall balance as you suggested previously, it's just weird that now at the age of 1.5 they would suddenly get longer and the tail is more full. But then again they are a slower to mature breed and perhaps he was just taking his time. It's all about "himself" around here and the way he thinks he's king of everything, I'm sure this is just another one of his "all about me" and "made ya look" tactics. He's such a priss.

You know what would be really great is......an actual designated approx. length put to it. You know like:
not less than 4", but not more than 6". These are just numbers I threw out there but it would be helpful. Not that I'm going to measure every roosters tail feathers but just a reference.

Pink, You may want to pose that question to Bev? I agree with you, some kind of length standard should be mentioned. That said, how many of that kind of tail do you see in the USA though??
If judges are used to seeing the longer tails, when they actually get to see a correct tail, they may fault it if nothing is mentioned about it in the SOP. Just saying...
