Marans Thread - breed discussion & pictures are welcome!

Hi! I just have a quick question.. I used to have this Blue Birchen Marans rooster. To me (a couple years ago), he looked like he had the correct coloring but I haven't seen much blue birchen pictures. Could you guys tell me if this is how they are supposed to look? I know he probably wasn't the most conformationally correct Marans but I was just wondering about the color.. thanks!! (oh and he was about a year old in these pictures)

Oh Nooo he looks terrible, you must cull him and send him to me right away LOL! I don't know if he is totally correct or not but he is Gorgeous!!

ETA: What kind of hen is that next to him? Blue birchen as well? Got any more pics of her?

There is absolutely no way that a judge should not of noticed it. . . . Every bird from this exhibitor had issues. . . Clearly we went after judging because the ribbons had already been awarded.

This is creeping me out. Now I will be on the lookout at the next fair lol. I think the Clay Co. fair is March 31st.
