Every time I think I am done with chicks someone around here goes BROODY arrrgggg!! Two days ago the freeranging Olive Egger girl went broody on the patio next to the broody duck! She is on about 8 OEs and I stuck 5 guinea eggs under her (well in front of her since she tried to bite my hand off) but she's sitting on them now. These were my first guinea eggs and they could possibly be fertiliezed by a golden cuckoo marans roo, BCM roo or a guinea LOL!
I did break the sussex off her broodiness by every morning luring her away with grapes (her favorite) and then locking her out of the run to freerange with the others. After a few days she forgot about sitting. I guess she probably wasn't that dedicated.
